2014 Citizen of the Year

James Wright, Sr.



The Wright family moved to Columbia Station in the early 1960�s parents John & Helen, daughter Jane and twins James & John. They attended Columbia schools.
Jim was captain of the football team. He married his high school Sweetheart Karen.
They had 2 boys Jim Jr. & Sean. As the boys grew he became involved with their needs. He was an assistant in pee-wee football, assistant advisor to the boys 4 � H group and active in the athletic boosters. He started as assistant scoutmaster and then scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 176.
He has given generously of time and talent to the Columbia Methodist Church. He is active in Columbia Chamber of Commerce. He has helped organize and conduct community fundraising for those in need. He started Wright�s Catering about 20 years ago.
He has supported his wife Karen in her goal to become a Colonel of the Army Nurse Corps to honor her father who served in WW II and Korea.
