2011 Citizen of the Year

Sheela Jadud
Columbia Township's 2011 Citizen 
            of the Year - Sheela Jadud


Sheela Jadud received the 2011 Columbia Citizen of the Year Award from the Columbia Chamber of Commerce and
the Columbia Historical Society and recognition from the Ohio State House by Matt Lundy.

Almost as soon as Sheela moved to Columbia she was active in the community. She was active in the PTA participating in
Mother Singers when her three boys and one girl were in school. She served as PTA president one year.

When the boys were in Scouts she was a Den Mother.

The community at large called for her. She was chairperson for the Columbia Homecoming Committee in the 1980s, also served as Secretary/ Treasurer in the 1990s.
She championed the start of Liberty Singers in 1986 as well as singing with them for several years.

Sheela became a member of Columbia Kiwanis, serving as President its� last few years.

Due to necessity she could not be as active as she wanted to be for a few years but this year she is back to be
Co-chair of the Columbia Miss Pageant.

Sheela and the late Richard Jadud (CHS graduate 1961) have four children � Tony, Tim, Stacey Jadud-Zachar
and the late Rick. Grandchildren are Kyle and Kaylah Jadud and Mickey and Shayla Zachar.
