2013 Citizen of the Year

Wayne Brassell
Columbia Township's 2013 Citizen 
            of the Year - Wayne Brassell


Wayne E. Brassell is a lifelong resident of Columbia Township.

He was born and raised on the family homestead. He graduated from Columbia High School and Walsh University in North Canton, Oh.

He and his wife Debbie have been married for 31 years and have a daughter and grandson. He is retired from Kokosing Construction Company of Fredericktown, Oh.

Wayne has been an instrument part of the Chamber of Commerce, a founding board member of the Columbia Community Foundation and an active participant of the Homecoming Committee for the last several years. Most recently he was added to the Board of Southwest Hospital. He has spent many personal hours raising funds to support scholarships, various school programs, food banks, township needs and the Columbia Historical Society Columbia Block House. It was his vision to beautify the corner of Rt 82 & 252. His strong belief is in giving back to his home community.
