Members are requested to make a special effort to come to the September 13th meeting as the Block House project will be discussed.

Are you smarter than a Columbia 8th grader circa 1900. We will have old text
books, and selected questions from the Boxwell test. 8th Grade students had to
take the test to go on to high school. Put on your thinking cap.
Halloween – Time will be indicated by Township.
November. 3
Columbia is hosting the Intersociety Meeting at Carlisle. We set up the tables, and
provide the coffee and water or lemonade and clean up afterward.

In 2008 we read the first half of the Civil War Letters of Jonathan Ring. Now we will finish the letters. Some volunteer readers are requested.

information on the militia in the area from the 1830's and the 1840's.
In particular the "war" between Ohio and Michigan around 1836-1837.
