Photography Old & New. Bob MacIntyre will explain our collection of Daguerrotypes & Ambrotypes given
us by Shirley Jasper Bartter. Raplph Malik will have information about Dale Hummon.
If you have an Aerial photo by Mr. Hummon will you share it?
Please encourage anyone with pictures of people, places and events to visit. We will have the scanner set up to add to our collection of pictures.

Barbara Knopf Beyer, a former Columbia resident will talk about her experiences in Kenya serving in the Peace Corps
from 1989 thru 1991. She taught accounting at the Mathenge Technical Institute. She has some interesting and sometimes
funny stories to relate.
October 12th

Louise Allen of Berea Historical Society will share her knowledge of aprons. Everyone is encouraged to bring aprons
and their stories. Men are encouraged to bring their outdoor chefs aprons.

Karen Wright is an Army nurse serving now at a hospital in Erie, PA. She has served in Iraq. She will speak of
her experiences there.
Russ Reimer was an Air Force Major during Desert Storm. He will tell of some of his experiences while serving in the
Air Force.
November 11th
Columbia us the Host for the Lorain County Intersociety Meeting at Carlisle Resrvation, Lorain County Metro Park on
Diagonal Rd. We provide the drinks - coffee, tea, water, lemonade and table covers for the food tables, place mats and cups.
Each of the organizations present gives about a 3 minute update on their year's activities which is followed by a program.

Election of officers
Jeanne Boey will bring her keyboard so we may sing along with the Christmas music. Stories about the music or relating to
Christmas are Welcome.
Invite friends, relatives and neighbors to the open houses or meetings - all are welcome
We are looking for any
information on the militia in the area from the 1830's and the 1840's.
In particular the "war" between Ohio and Michigan around 1836-1837.
